The Children’s Scholarship Fund is a privately-funded organization providing partial scholarships to low-income families in Baltimore City. Qualified Baltimore City families are selected at random and scholarships are awarded based on financial need. The program is geared specifically for families enrolling their children at a nonpublic school for the first time. Families with at least one child entering a nonpublic school for their first time, and entering K – 7th Grade, are eligible. The family must agree to pay a portion of the tuition ($500 minimum) as well as participate in their children’s education. All siblings are included. The amount of the award is based on household size and income; they usually cover 25%-75% of a school’s tuition, up to $2,500 per student per year.
