As part of the ongoing communication with our members of Congress expressing our appreciation or disappointment with their policy positions on Israel, we request that everyone take a few minutes to voice our disappointment with the recent actions of Senator Angela Alsobrooks.
Since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas War, members of Congress have been under significant pressure from anti-Israel activists, with constant accusations of Israel committing genocide in Gaza, and pushing for votes against Israel interests. In a meeting with leaders of our community a couple of months ago, Senator Angela Alsobrooks emphatically assured us that she would be a pro-Israel voice and vote in Congress. Yet, she has now begun echoing the anti-Israel rhetoric we have come to hear from the “usual suspects”, culminating in her vote in support of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ failed resolution to suspend weapons sales to Israel.
Senator Alsobrooks has acknowledged that the bombardment of calls into her office by anti-Israel activists has played a key role in her vote. It is imperative that we do what we can to urge her to reconsider her recent positions.
